45W Heat Mat Kit

Root zone temperature directly affects how quickly seeds germinate and cuttings strike. Cold media slows cell division and root initiation, leaving cuttings vulnerable to rot while they wait to establish, while warmth at the base encourages faster, more even rooting. This kit pairs a flexible heat mat with a digital thermostat, giving you gentle bottom heat that is held at a steady target rather than left to run unchecked.

The Hydro Axis Flexible Heat Mat measures 50 x 50cm and runs at 45W, warming the root area by 5.5 to 11°C above the surrounding grow room temperature. That lift is what increases the success rate of seedlings and cuttings in cooler spaces and through winter. The mat is durable and easy to wipe clean between batches. On its own, a heat mat will keep warming for as long as it is switched on, which can overheat media in a warm room or over a long day. The included digital thermostat solves this by monitoring temperature with a probe and switching the mat on and off to hold your chosen setting, with an indicator light showing when it is actively heating.

Setup is straightforward: plug the heat mat into the thermostat, plug the thermostat into power, and position the probe at root zone level. Suitable for propagation trays, seedling starts, and cutting trays. Supplied as a kit containing one Hydro Axis Flexible Heat Mat 50 x 50cm and one digital heat mat thermostat.
