Calcium and magnesium deficiency is one of the most common nutritional problems in hydroponic growing, particularly in coco coir, where the medium's cation exchange properties actively compete for calcium and magnesium before the plant can access them. Even in systems where the base nutrient includes both elements, the demand from certain growing media or heavy-feeding cultivars can outpace supply, leading to interveinal chlorosis, tip burn, and stunted growth that characterise deficiency.

Emerald Harvest Cal-Mag supplies additional calcium and magnesium in a supplementary formulation designed to be used alongside a base nutrient program, not as a replacement. Calcium supports cell wall integrity, membrane stability, and the structural development of flowering sites. Magnesium sits at the centre of the chlorophyll molecule, making it directly responsible for the plant's ability to drive photosynthesis and energy production. Kelp extract is included as a natural source of proteins and biocatalysts that further support root development and overall plant vitality. NPK: 2-0-0. Suitable for all growing media. Shelf life three years or more under normal storage conditions.
