There is a specific window in the flowering period when the plant's demand for phosphorus and potassium increases sharply. Phosphorus plays a central role in energy transfer and cell formation in developing flowers, and potassium governs water and nutrient transport through the vascular system as well as sugar production during the reproductive phase. A standard bloom nutrient provides these elements at levels suited to the broader flowering period, but does not address the concentrated demand that occurs at peak flowering. PK 13/14 is formulated specifically for this window, delivering high-concentration phosphorus and potassium in a form the plant can access quickly and directly.

The production process Canna uses to combine pure phosphorus and potassium at these concentrations allows for immediate plant availability without the stability issues that affect less refined formulations. Applied at the right moment, three weeks before harvest for a period of three to six days, the results are measurably improved fruit development and density. Dose rate: 15 ml per 10 litres (1:666), added to a full nutrient tank three weeks before harvest and used for three to six days. Store in a cool, dark location. Shake well before use.
