Slimes, algae, and microbial buildup in a hydroponic system create problems that compound over time. They block drippers, filters, and pump inlets; they degrade the quality of the nutrient solution; and they create conditions that attract fungus gnats and other root-zone pests by providing an organic food source. Stored water and surface water sources are common entry points for the organisms responsible, and many organic additives containing carbohydrates or sugars accelerate their development once present in the system.

Pythoff is a nutrient conditioner formulated to suppress the conditions that allow slimes and algae to establish, extending the effective working life of both the water and the nutrient solution. The formulation is non-systemic and non-toxic, safe for use from seed to harvest without accumulating in plant tissue or posing risks to the end product. It complies with organic farming guidelines that prohibit systemic chemical inputs, making it appropriate for growers running organic programs. Not compatible with hydrogen peroxide or beneficial bacteria.

For use in hydroponic and coco systems throughout the full crop cycle. Stored or surface water should be pre-treated before introduction to the system. Dose rate: 0.1 to 0.2 ml per litre.
