Coco coir, as a growing medium, has specific nutritional demands that a generic base nutrient doesn't fully address. Its natural cation-exchange properties affect how certain elements, particularly calcium and magnesium, are retained and released, and its buffering capacity influences pH behaviour differently from that of soil or inert hydroponic media. House & Garden Cocos A&B is formulated specifically for coco cultivation, with a nutrient profile calibrated to account for these characteristics.

The formulation is built from high-purity liquid nutrients and trace elements, with no bulking agents that can interfere with uptake or create residue in the root zone. EDDHA-Fe iron is included as the iron source, a chelated form with superior stability across a wide pH range and strong bioavailability under coco conditions. Humic and fulvic acids are incorporated to support nutrient uptake and transportation through the root zone, improving the efficiency with which the plant accesses what's in the solution.

Always add part A to water first, then mix thoroughly before adding part B. Adding both simultaneously can trigger chemical reactions that lead to partial solidification and incomplete nutrition. Start at EC 1.2 during the growth cycle, increasing progressively through bloom and finishing at approximately EC 2.0.
