Nutrifield AutoFeed Aquavalve 5

The AQUAvalve5 is the core technology behind every AutoPot watering system. It is a passive, gravity-fed valve that requires no electricity, pumps, timers, or mains water pressure to operate. Water flows from a raised reservoir by gravity alone, and the AQUAvalve controls delivery to the pot by responding directly to what the plant is consuming rather than running on a preset schedule.

The valve opens to fill the tray to a depth of 20mm, then closes and waits. Once the plant has drawn down that supply, the valve opens again to repeat the cycle. This wet-and-dry cycling mirrors the natural pattern of uptake and aeration that plant roots prefer, avoiding the waterlogged conditions that can develop with continuous irrigation and the stress of excessive dry periods between scheduled feeds. Because each AQUAvalve responds to its own tray, plants in a shared system can still develop at their own rate without one affecting the other.

The AQUAvalve5 features a 5mm inlet, 66% larger than the original AQUAvalve, delivering faster fill rates and improved compatibility with the wider range of nutrients and additives used in modern growing programs. The larger inlet also reduces the risk of blockage. Compatible with 9 mm and 16- 9 mm pipe and fittings. All current AutoPot systems are supplied with AQUAvalve5 as standard. Older systems using 6mm fittings can be upgraded; existing trays and pots are compatible with AQUAvalve5 without modification.
