Nutrifield AutoFeed Root Control Disc Round XL

Roots will find their way toward moisture and nutrients regardless of what is in their path, and in an AutoFeed system that means the AQUAvalve is a potential target. A root that penetrates or obstructs the valve will compromise the system's ability to water correctly. Root Control Discs are placed in the tray underneath the pot, with the metallic gold face upward, to intercept escaping roots before they reach the valve. The gold coating is the active barrier; roots contact the metallic surface and are deterred from continuing. Despite their effectiveness, it is worth checking occasionally by lifting the pot to confirm no roots have bypassed the disc. If any have, they can be trimmed without affecting the plant. Replace discs at the start of each growing season to prevent the transfer of disease between crops.

The round XL Root Control Disc (265mm diameter) is designed to fit XL system trays and kits.
